Storage

Sailing boats and gear at Woollahra Sailing Club in Sydney.

WSC Storage

We offer highly sought-after, on-site boat storage right on the spectacular Rose Bay foreshore. Subject to availability and an annual fee, this exclusive member service is heavily valued given the density of the surrounding Eastern Suburbs. To maintain our vibrant racing community, storage spots are reserved for active sailors, with the condition that stored boats must regularly participate in club racing and events.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I hire club equipment for my friends and family?

Yes, active WSC members are welcome to bring friends and family along to use the club’s hire fleet, which includes single and double kayaks and Pacer dinghies.

However, you must book each piece of equipment through your member account and you must accompany your guests on the water at all times .

What are the conditions for keeping my boat storage space?

Because on-site boat storage is highly sought-after, the club enforces a strict “active use” policy. To maintain your storage spot, your craft must be used regularly—the general club expectation is that you participate in club racing at least three times a year and use the boat a minimum of once a month. The operations team regularly monitors the yard to ensure stored boats remain active.

If I sell my stored boat, can the new owner keep its storage spot?

No, boat storage spots are strictly non-transferable. If you sell your craft to another person, the boat is expected to be removed from the yard. The new owner will need to submit their own application to go on the waiting list for an available spot.

When can I hire equipment, and do I need to book ahead?

Equipment hire is available during the club’s reception open hours, which are typically 9am to 5pm most days. Even though you can pay via your online member account, you must contact the club in advance to confirm availability and book the equipment. Upon arrival, you will also need to check in at the office to complete the appropriate safety and competency checks before hitting the water.
